New WV Chief Technology Officer appointed - WDTV

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WDTV) -- Governor Jim Justice has appointed Joshua D. Spence as West Virginia's new Chief Technology Officer.

Spence fills the vacancy left by John D. Dunlap's retirement. Spence began serving as WV's Chief Information Security Officer in 2015. He has a master's degree in Information Technology Management from Marshall University and holds several industry certifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional and Certified Ethical Hacker.

While serving as Chief Technology Officer, Spence will remain a Cyber Operations officer with the West Virginia Air National Guard.

Spence's appointment is effective immediately.
